About the Image Cropper

The image cropper cuts a picture down to the area you choose, either with aspect ratio presets such as 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, 3:2, 9:16 and 3:1, or with an exact pixel rectangle. It also rotates and flips images and shows a live crop overlay on the preview.

Frequently asked questions

How do I crop an image to a square?
Open the Crop tab and choose the 1:1 preset. The crop is centred on the image; adjust X and Y to move it.
What aspect ratio should I use for Instagram or stories?
Use the 1:1 preset for square feed posts and 9:16 for stories and reels.
Can I rotate or flip the image too?
Yes. Rotation and horizontal or vertical flip are available alongside the crop settings.
Are my images uploaded or stored?
Each image is sent over HTTPS to the Image Tools server, processed in memory with the sharp image library and returned straight to your browser. Files are not saved, logged or shared, and nothing is kept after the response is sent.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free with no sign-up, no watermark on your results and no daily quota. Open the page, add your images and download the output.
