About the Image Converter

The image converter changes a picture from one file format to another, for example PNG to JPG, JPG to WebP or HEIC to JPG. It supports JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF and HEIF output, lets you set quality and compression effort, and converts whole batches into a single ZIP.

How to use it

  1. Add one or more images by dropping them on the page or clicking Add Images.
  2. Under Format, choose the output: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF or HEIF.
  3. Set quality and effort; turn on Lossless for pixel-perfect WebP or AVIF.

Which image formats are supported?
You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, BMP and SVG files, and export to JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF or HEIF, or keep the original format.
Should I convert my images to WebP or AVIF?
Both are much smaller than JPG and PNG at the same visual quality. WebP works in every modern browser; AVIF usually compresses further but encodes more slowly. For websites, WebP is the safe default and AVIF is the smallest option.
Can I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone to JPG?
Yes. Add the HEIC or HEIF file, choose JPG as the output format and process it.
Are my images uploaded or stored?
Each image is sent over HTTPS to the Image Tools server, processed in memory with the sharp image library and returned straight to your browser. Files are not saved, logged or shared, and nothing is kept after the response is sent.
