JSON to Types

JSON

TypeScript

export interface Root {
  id: number;
  name: string;
  active: boolean;
  tags: string[];
  profile: Profile;
}

export interface Profile {
  timezone: string;
}

Zod

import { z } from "zod";

export const RootSchema = z.object({
  id: z.number(),
  name: z.string(),
  active: z.boolean(),
  tags: z.array(z.string()),
  profile: z.object({
    timezone: z.string()
  })
});

What is the JSON to TypeScript?

JSON to Types generates TypeScript interfaces and Zod validation schemas from a sample JSON payload. Paste an API response and get nested types, optional fields and arrays inferred automatically, ready to drop into a Next.js, Node or React codebase, so you spend less time hand-writing types.

How to use it

  1. Paste a sample JSON payload.
  2. Choose TypeScript interfaces or a Zod schema.
  3. Copy the generated code into your project.

Features

  • TypeScript interface generation
  • Zod schema generation
  • Nested objects and arrays inferred
  • Runs locally

Frequently asked questions

Is my JSON sent to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your JSON never leaves your device, nothing is logged, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

Why generate a Zod schema as well as types?

TypeScript types disappear at runtime. A Zod schema validates real API data when it arrives and infers the same TypeScript type, so your types and validation never drift apart.
