Frequently asked questions

Is Page Numbers free?

Yes. Page Numbers is completely free, with no account, no sign-up, no watermark added to your files and no daily limit.

Are my files uploaded when I use Page Numbers?

No. The PDF is opened and processed inside your browser with JavaScript, so the file never leaves your device and is not stored on any server.

Can I skip numbering the cover page?

Yes. Set the Pages field to the pages you want numbered, for example "2-20", and set the start number to 1 if you want the second page to show 1.

Is there a file size limit?

Each PDF can be up to 50 MB. Because processing happens on your device, very large or image-heavy files may take longer on older phones and laptops.
