OCR Scanned PDF

Adapter-ready OCR workspace for Tesseract.js or a consent-based OCR API.

Add Files

Files stay in this browser unless the tool explicitly asks for cloud consent.

Settings

Configure the operation before processing.

OCR is adapter-ready only for now. The local implementation should render pages, run Tesseract.js in a worker, then overlay invisible text. A cloud OCR endpoint should remain consent-gated before upload.

Run

Ready when your file is.

About OCR Scanned PDF

OCR Scanned PDF will turn scanned pages into searchable text. Text recognition is not enabled yet: the tool currently produces a plan for the selected language and never sends your file anywhere. For PDFs that already contain selectable text, use Extract Text.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool recognize text in scanned PDFs today?

Not yet. It only generates a setup report. Text recognition will run locally in your browser once it is enabled.

Are my files uploaded when I use OCR Scanned PDF?

No. The PDF is opened and processed inside your browser with JavaScript, so the file never leaves your device and is not stored on any server.
